Bureau Veritas and ColdBlock Technologies are pleased to report the completion of a successful test program confirming the accuracy and precision of ColdBlock digestion technology on a wide range of samples from customers in the mining industry in Chile.

October 3, 2023 (Niagara Falls, Ontario) — The testing of ColdBlock’s rapid digestion equipment commenced last year in Bureau Veritas’ laboratory in Santiago Chile. The laboratory’s standard digestion methods using traditional hot block digestion equipment were converted to ColdBlock methods and compared for accuracy, precision, and repeatability. Following confirmation of this initial work, Bureau Veritas commenced test work using samples from a key customer in Chile.

Jameson Linares, Latin America Metals & Minerals Director, Bureau Veritas, commented:

“We are excited to provide our customers with a solution that addresses the need for faster results, without sacrificing accuracy or repeatability along with reducing GHG emissions. Having completed extensive in-house testing of the technology, we have confirmed that ColdBlock digestion methods can be utilized to increase sample throughput and reduce assay wait times for our customers while providing the high degree of accuracy that is required for multi-element analysis. We are well placed to offer the speed and accuracy of this technology to other mining and metals customers in Latin America” The deployment of ColdBlock digestion equipment to Bureau Veritas’ Chilean lab network and customer mine site labs has now commenced. Utilizing this technology, Bureau Veritas offers customers faster assay results with the same accuracy as current processes.

Craig West, Chief Executive Officer, ColdBlock, commented:

“We are excited to be working with Bureau Veritas and appreciate their drive to provide customers with improved service and speed. With support from our global laboratory partners, we are seeing a significant increase in demand for ColdBlock digestion equipment, not just in the mining and metals sectors but also in agriculture, food, and environmental testing as well.”
